Whether you have a friendly relationship with your ex or it’s still on shaky ground, juggling a career and home life is a challenge. Co-parenting in New Jersey takes patience and open communication to work. Differences in schedule and lifestyle can make that difficult, but today’s co-parenting apps can minimize disagreements while keeping you organized. Here are some of my favorites, and as a plus, most have free versions or trial periods, so you can find the one that works best for both of you.

1. AppClose

Rating: 5/5

What we love: AppClose offers a unique feature, AppClose Solo, which allows you to connect with your co-parent even if they do not have AppClose! Don’t worry because even when using the Solo feature, AppClose will still keep track of your attempts to inform your co-parent about payment obligations, events, or other information about your child. AppClose also offers phone and video calling and will document all missed and completed calls.

Cost: AppClose has no subscription costs and is free on the AppStore and Google Play!

2. OurFamilyWizard

Rating 4.5/5

What we love: OurFamilyWizard allows you to talk to your co-parent on only one platform and does not allow messages to be edited or deleted. The calendar feature is an easy way to keep track of parenting time and schedule changes. With color-coded parenting days and schedule change requests built in, this feature is sure to make co-parenting a little easier! OurFamilyWizard also makes sharing your child’s expenses so simple! You can make payments and create expenses all in one place!

Cost: OurFamilyWizard offers both 1-year subscriptions and 2-year subscriptions. Essentials membership is $12/month, and Premium membership is $17/month.

3. TalkingParents

Rating 4/ 5

What we love: TalkingParents is unique because of its Accountable Calling feature. This allows you and your co-parent to call one another without disclosing your phone number, and TalkingParents will record the phone calls and provide transcripts of every call. TalkingParents’ Info Library is the perfect way to share and store information about your child, such as clothing sizes, daycare information, and allergies.

Cost: TalkingParents offers free, limited use of its website to parents. After a 30-day free trial, sign up for the Standard plan offered at $9.99/month or the Premium plan at $24.99/month.

4. 2Houses

Rating 4 /5

What we love: 2Houses makes your co-parenting schedule fit seamlessly with your life. With their calendar feature, you can organize parenting time, make special requests for specific days, keep track of important school dates, and synchronize it with your usual calendar (google calendar, outlook, etc.). Discussing finances with your co-parent can be difficult, but the 2Houses Finance feature can ease some of that difficulty by displaying what balance is owed to whom, keeping track of expenses, and allowing you to make purchase suggestions to your co-parent for your kid.

Cost: 2Houses offers a 14-day free trial and then $14.17/Month for the whole family

5. WeParent

Rating 3.5 /5

What we love: WeParent offers a clear and simple way to co-parent. Use their calendar feature to manage your custody schedule, connect with your co-parent using the app’s messaging feature, or share notes, pictures, or other documents with the files feature. Whatever you need, WeParent is simple and easy to use.

Cost: Download WeParent for free and get a 14-day free trial, then sign up with either $9.99 / month, $99.99 / year or a $199.99 / one-time payment.
